There is a “good problem” that comes with using Field Notes: because our app is designed to be intuitive and engaging, participants tend to upload a lot of content.

When you have many hours of video from highly engaged participants across multiple markets, finding the needle in the haystack is one thing – but extracting it and showing it to your stakeholders is another.

That is why we are excited to announce that Video Clipping and Playlists are now officially live on the platform.

Here is how these new tools help you manage large volumes of content and turn raw video into compelling stories.

1. Identify the Moments that Matter

Before you can clip a video, you need to find the right moment.

We leverage Speechmatics for best-in-class transcriptions and DeepL for nuanced translations so you don’t need to watch every hour of footage. Search for specific keywords or take advantage of the “AI Find Evidence” tool to quickly identify any key videos that match a specific theme. When you find that perfect quote where a participant articulates exactly how they feel, you can jump straight to that timestamp.

2. Clip, Save, and Store

With our new Clipping Tool, you can isolate the exact segment you need directly within the Field Notes admin portal. Whether it’s a 5-second reaction or a 2-minute explanation, just highlight the text or select the timeline, save the clip, and name it for easy retrieval.

3. Build Your Story with Playlists

A single clip is powerful, but a collection of clips is a story.

Our new Playlist Feature allows you to stitch together multiple clips from different participants. You can build a “Showreel of Frustration” to prove a pain point to your end client, or a “Day In The Life” reel to show your HR team what life as a Grad is like.

Studies show that visualising data makes insights 60% more memorable. By curating these playlists, you aren’t just delivering a report; you are bringing the voices of customers and employees directly into the room.

Don’t let your best insights get lost in a sea of data. Book a Demo to see how quickly you can turn raw video into strategic narratives using Clipping and Playlists.
